The Volt Litewire is a two-piece voltmeter with a fiber optic link between the high voltage sensor and the readout at ground potential. The sensor is mounted on a hot stick and slipped onto a medium voltage line for measuring voltage phase to phase or voltage phase to ground. The fiber optic cable connects the sensor to a receiver unit at ground potential, which contains the digital readout and provides an analog output.
The analog output is the most outstanding feature of this instrument. It is a reproduction of the high voltage current or voltage waveform, accurate to approximately the 50th harmonic, and is available as a 0-2 volt AC signal at ground.
This voltmeter offers users provides waveform analysis for sophisticated low voltage analyzers, which are otherwise incapable of measuring primary distribution voltage up to 40 kV.
Volt LiteWire has a urethane housing that is designed to ensure proper operation in the most adverse environments of power lines. It is resistant to impacts and flame spread and water repellent. It is also able to function in a wide range of ambient temperatures.
